Yandex opens offices in Switzerland and Belarus

Yandex is expanding: yesterday the company announced that they are opening two new offices: a sales office  in Lucerne, Switzerland, and a development office in Minsk, Belarus.

According to Alexei Tretiakov, Yandex Chief Commercial Officer, the new office in Switzerland will help Yandex boost advertising sales in Europe and attract new clients. Yandex offers a few advertising possibilities including Yandex.Direct - contextual and display advertising in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and Kazakhstan on the websites of Yandex Advertising Network and Yandex's own sites. Luckily for international companies who want to advertise in Russian-speaking countires, Yandex.Direct is available both in Russian and English.

As for the newly-opened office in Belarus, its employees will be busy developing new services for Yandex, working mainly on Yandex search and maps.

Here's what the new office in Minsk looks like on Yandex.maps:

The new office in Switzerland can't be seen on Yandex.maps, though, because Yandex doesn't have a map of Lucerne. I guess the employees of Yandex will have to navigate their way to work using services of their competitors.
